The hero area—also referred to as the homepage slideshow or video background—is one of the most distinctive features of Inspiro Premium. It allows you to create a full-screen visual section at the top of your homepage, ideal for showcasing videos, images, and call-to-action buttons.

A Brief History

Inspiro was first released in 2014 as a premium portfolio theme. At that time, the only available method to create a slideshow was through the theme’s built-in Slideshow post type.

Since then, Inspiro has evolved into a multipurpose theme with full Elementor integration, enabling users to build complex layouts visually and with more control. The new Slideshow Widget for Elementor offers a much easier and more powerful way to create and customize your hero section—making it our recommended method today.

Available Methods to Create a Hero Area in Inspiro Premium

Depending on the tools you use (Elementor, block editor, or none), there are three methods to add a hero area in Inspiro:

1. Elementor Video Slideshow Widget (Recommended)

This method offers the most flexibility and ease of use. Simply drag and drop the Video Slideshow widget in Elementor and configure everything visually.

2. Built-in Slideshow (via Slideshow Posts)

This is the legacy method built into the theme since its early versions. It uses custom post types to define each slide and is still fully supported for users who prefer not to use a page builder.

3. Cover Block in Block Editor

If you’re using the native WordPress block editor, you can use the Cover block to add a single full-screen video or image. This method is best for basic hero areas without slideshow functionality.
